My illustration approach

As an illustrator, I love capturing ideas that are hard to describe in words: I use black ink and cardboard, chicken skewers, nibs on backwards and sometimes my fingers to draw to convey feeling, movement and emotion. I'll often collage in textural backgrounds to create a visceral, hand-made vibe; I enjoy collaborating with clients who love the 'feeling' of my works.

Clients have included: TAC (Traffic Accident Commission); Deakin University; Sport Australia; Aurealis Magazine; Viskatoons; Geronimo Creative Services; True Crime News Weekly; The Suburban Review, and many more.

If you want your publication to look and feel a little different, and like illustration that encourages the imagination and doesn't talk down to the reader, we probably speak the same language.

*Please note: I do not use any AI tools to generate my hand-drawn illustrations – either during the ideation process or my output. With the huge amount of ethical, legal and environmental issues around AI-generated writing and images, I do not partner with people who put their name to AI-generated work.
